Much like any great love story, there was a long and winding path that I had to walk down before finding my person, or in this case, my passion. As a lifelong creative with a long history of coloring outside the lines and walking the path less traveled, looking back it feels like every step on my path has lead me to here, to use my creative gifts to help others.
I spent my early twenties on a far-reaching journey of self-discovery that took me everywhere form an ashram in the Bahamas to a Buddhist college in the mountains of Boulder, Colorado. There, I discovered my voice as a spoken word poet, studied psychology, and went to a lot of potlucks. After graduating, I moved back home to the Boston area, where I worked in hospitality while running a number of community events - a poetry open mic, food writing group and creative support group. When the pandemic hit, I felt a deep need for more color in my life, and so I started painting, and overnight started a handmade greeting card business that would eventually become Sage’s Studio.
I absolutely love helping couples tell their love stories through my unique illustration style and poetic way with words, all the while supporting them through such a big transition in their life as a wedding. Altogether, this work somehow feels like the perfect culmination of my many gifts and experiences, and so in a way, this business itself is my very own love story.
I’m so excited to help tell your story - thanks for reading about mine!
My Creative Love Story
My Creative Process
I bring a creative, collaborative approach to every design I work on. I love taking inspiration from the couples I work with and the love story we are telling - pulling from everything from their first date to their favorite love songs, artwork and more. The goal is to create something completely one of a kind, that could only be made for them.
As your wedding stationery designer and artist, I am part creative collaborator, helping you carry a creative thread throughout your day – part cheerleader of your love story, celebrating your journey and gushing about all the little details with you – and part project manager, keeping us on track throughout the creative process. I bring a curious and compassionate approach to every design, taking the majority of my inspiration from my couples and their lives, while also bringing my Capricorn work ethic to the design process to keep us on time. I know firsthand how stressful weddings can be, so I am here to take away as much of that stress as possible, and make it the most fun part of your planning journey as I can. I want you to feel seen in your designs, heard in our communications, and kept up to speed throughout your timeline.
I’m so glad you’re here and can’t wait to learn more about your love story. Inquire here to get the creative process started!
My studio is based outside of Boston in Weston, MA. It feels like a treasure chest of collected antiques, mermaid statues, memories and mementos from journeys past. This is ultimately what I want my work to feel like. When we work together, we’ll dive into the creative world of your love story - creating a relic from your shared experiences, interests and passions that you’ll hopefully treasure well beyond your wedding day.
I also have deep roots on Nantucket Island - where my family has had an antique home known as Seawing for generations. It’s actually where I got married! I love working on Nantucket weddings and blending my whimsical style with my unique understanding and appreciation for the island’s history.
That being said, I am happy to work with couples getting married anywhere and everywhere!
